ABSTRACT. When preparing this article, the author set the goal of clarifying the role of the Basic Law of the Ukrainian State, as an important legal guarantee of legality and law and order, in ensuring its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The author’s analysis of the norms of the Constitution of Ukraine, which touch on the subject of the study, proved the extremely important role of the Basic Law of the Ukrainian state in ensuring its sovereignty and territorial integrity, because this legal document, as a legal guarantee of legality and law and order, not only legalizes, but also legitimizes the necessary, albeit sometimes unpopular, legally significant actions of various state and social institutions.
