ABSTRACT. The article analyzes the reasons for applying measures of administrative responsibility for violations in the field of road infrastructure and highlights some provisions for their improvement.

As a result of the study, it is suggested that an administrative offense in the field of road infrastructure should be understood as a socially harmful, illegal, culpable act that encroaches on the established procedure for the construction, reconstruction and maintenance of highways, road infrastructure and the transportation of goods by road transport, including safety in this area, in the event of which the law provides for administrative responsibility.

Ways of improving the rule-making technique in the construction of norms that establish responsibility for violations in the field of road infrastructure are highlighted, in particular: 1) it is proposed to exclude penalties in the form of “deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of six months to one year” from the sanction of Article 124 of the Code of Criminal Procedure “Violation traffic rules, which caused damage to vehicles, cargo, highways, streets, railway crossings, road structures or other property”, leaving only a fine; 2) it is expedient to delineate the types of offenses provided for in part 1 of Article 129-1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, namely: “violation or failure to comply with rules, norms and standards related to ensuring road traffic safety at enterprises, institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership during the production and repair of vehicles and parts for them or installation of other items of additional equipment on them, not provided for by the design of the vehicle” and “violation or failure to comply with rules, norms and standards related to ensuring road traffic safety during the construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of highways , streets, railway crossings and road structures”; 3) it is necessary to introduce first administrative, and later possibly criminal liability for violation of the rules of road transportation of dangerous goods, rules for the passage of large sized and heavy vehicles over bridge crossings.
