ABSTRACT. The article analyzes information from open sources and publications on the Internet about the best samples of pistol weapons, which are most in demand among servicemen, law enforcement officers, civilians in different countries of the world. Modern globalization processes, European integration aspirations, counteraction to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, deterioration of the situation with illegal trafficking, use of weapons in Ukraine require changes in the educational process of higher education institutions with specific training conditions, basic fire training using NATO standards. In this aspect, the discipline «Fire training» is extremely important in the professional activities of a police officer.

Modern standards of police training require expanding the outlook, awareness of applicants about the best samples of modern pistol weapons to improve their professional level, official competencies in safe handling of firearms, minimizing traumatic situations. Attention is focused on the fact that European integration processes cause closer integration of the National Police into international police structures, which is associated with the need to develop applicants’ skills in handling modern samples of police weapons.
