ABSTRACT. The relevance of the state’s role in ensuring social standards and guarantees is becoming increasingly obvious in the context of modern scientific and political discussions. This scientific article, aimed at a detailed study of this role, attempts to answer several key questions by studying theoretical and legal aspects and world experience.

The first part deals with the theoretical understanding of the state’s role in ensuring social standards and guarantees based on relevant theories and concepts. Then, we turn the theory into reality by analyzing the legal aspects of the issue, including laws that regulate state guarantees and social standards.

The further part of the work is devoted to analysing world experience to study practical ways of ensuring social standards and guarantees by various states. We address this challenge by analyzing the financial and structural implications of the state’s role in setting and enforcing social standards.

The final part of the article examines international standards in social guarantees and the role of international organizations in establishing and monitoring the implementation of these standards. We also dwell on the peculiarities of implementing international standards at the national level.

This article provides a new dimension for a deep understanding of the critical role of the state in ensuring social standards and guarantees, trying to integrate the theoretical, legal and practical aspects of this issue. Our research aims to be an important contribution to the scientific debate and to help in the formation of public policy in the field of social standards and guarantees.
